Fifth installment of the Pop Culture Illustration project! Since I did a Clerks illustration with only Randal and Dante, I figured Jay and Silent Bob needed a piece of their own (or Bluntman and Chronic, as the case may be.)

Arnold, My Love, My Sultry Pre-Teen

So, "Hey Arnold" is on Netflix. While the show didn't particularly influence my art style, it was one of my absolutely FAVORITES as a kid. And honestly? Watching it again it still really holds up. Both the art, and the writing! I can't think of another kids show that touches on subjects like neglect, alcoholism, immigration and even homelessness in a kid-friendly way. 

And yeah, I'm still a little bitter that Helga never got her sultry pre-teen by the series end.

Just Save Up All Your Nickles and Dimes

The third instillation of my cult classic film illustration series! I felt I needed a black and white piece to go with the set and what better film for that than Clerks?Kevin Smith films have been such a huge influence to my writing style. Clerks, Chasing Amy and Dogma all have a place on my favorite films of all time list.

FREAKED

The second installment of my Pop Culture Illustration series! Decided to do two Alex Winter films in a row and do the under-rated cult-classic FREAKED! I had a lot of fun with this one - I looked at a lot of vintage sideshow posters for inspiration. And if you haven’t seen the movie you should definitely check it out! It’s got Mr. T as a bearded lady - what more do ya need?

Who Was Noah's Wife?

For my senior project here at Pratt, I'm doing a series of illustrations all based around pop culture! All of the movies, cartoons, comics, and tv shows that have both made an impact on popular culture, and me as a person. So, needless to say, for the first in the series I HAD to do Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure.

...yes, my senior project is basically fanart. It was my professor's idea. Fight me, haha!
